The information from the National Association of Realtors show that the existing home sales for June 2011 figures, showing that there was a decrease of 0.8% annualized rate, from May 2011 home sales. The existing home sales for June 2011 are now 8.8% below what they were in June 2010. Not very good news for home sales. Hopefully the will pick up next month.

For this month private construction spending rose 1.7 percent in April. The most interesting information I find for April is that Home prices are down in 20 cities to the lowest level since 2003. Construction began on on 523,000 houses in April, next month should be a boost when they get all the debris cleared from all the tornado damaged homes in the South last month.
Overall it looks like the housing market is taking a nose dive, maybe due to storms and flooding. Lets hope May does better.

This is not good, but some good news is that national average fixed rate mortgage for a 30-year conventional loan was 4.84 percent in March. This interest rate is down from 5 percent from interest rates on 30-year conventional loan in February.
